The original data provided to SLJ and published in the February 2023 issue and online was inaccurate. The corrected information is reflected in the chart below, which was updated March 3.
Here are the average book prices released in 2022, produced annually by SLJ in partnership with Follett and Baker & Taylor.
The data, based on figures supplied by Follett and Baker & Taylor, shows average list prices for books (children’s titles, young adult books, graphic novels, paperback, and hardcover editions), which have been released during the time frames listed.
Separate calculations have been supplied for the school market and the public library market.
