Gr 4-8–When Korean-American tween Harper and her family move into a haunted house, Harper discovers her ghost-hunting abilities and starts using them to help people. This spooky series will appeal to aspiring ghost hunters and mystery fans.

“Artemis Fowl” series by Eoin Colfer. Disney. 2001.
Gr 5-8–White, 12-year-old Artemis Fowl is an evil genius. And he’s determined to rebuild his family’s wealth by ransoming a fairy in this compelling modern fantasy series. These humorous books will entertain readers who enjoy enterprising teens navigating urban fantasy landscapes.

Jackaby by William Ritter. Algonquin. 2014.
Gr 9 & Up–When white British teen Abigail arrives in the United States, she joins supernatural detective R.F. Jackaby as his assistant in this fast-paced supernatural mystery. The combination of horror and detective work in this novel makes it a good fit for Lockwood fans.
